01 Global routing with FrontDoor

Azure FrontDoor with CDN handles traffic routing and edge performance, which is what delivers high availability across the country rather than from a single site.

02 Multi-tier workload separation

API Management separates consumer, business and shared application workloads into tiers, so one workload's transaction volume does not degrade the others.

03 Database high availability

SQL Server runs primary-secondary with VNET integration. Failover is built into the data layer, which is where a live financial service can least afford an interruption.

04 Secure remote access

Azure Bastion and a jumpbox provide administrative access without exposing public IPs, removing the most obvious route into a platform holding financial data.
