Their book took the seven Lean principles and applied them to software engineering and development, paving the way for a more streamlined and efficient process. Since then, the lean development process has been adapted for use in the software industry, with many companies finding success in its principles. By minimizing waste and emphasizing customer value, lean software development has proven to be a highly effective approach to software development. 

7 Principles Of Lean Software Development

The seven principles of lean software development include: 

1 Eliminate Waste The goal of this principle is to eliminate any activities, features, or processes that do not add value to the customer. 
2 Build Quality In Lean software development emphasizes quality over quantity and focuses on continual improvement. 
3 Create Knowledge This principle encourages teams to share knowledge and build a culture of collaboration. 
4 Defer Commit-ment Decisions are delayed until the last responsible moment in order to maximize flexibility and responsiveness. 
5 Deliver Fast The goal is to deliver value as quickly as possible by minimizing cycle time and reducing delays.  
6 Respect People This principle emphasizes the importance of collaboration, respect, and open communication between team members. 
7 Optimize The Whole Lean software development focuses on optimizing the entire process, not just individual pieces.  

What Are The Strengths And Weaknesses Of Lean Software development?

Lean Software Development’s Strengths:

Known as Kaizen, this philosophy promises efficient and effective results for any operation.
